Robotics Innovation for the Industrial World
The Robotics Team of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) is collaborating with Ezra Robotics presenting new innovations in the world of robotics: four-legged robot dog equipped with sensor systems, navigation, and artificial intelligence.
This robot is not just the result of campus research, but rather a concrete form of collaboration between academia and industry in addressing the challenges of efficiency, safety, and autonomy in various industrial sectors.
Technology and Capabilities
This robot dog was developed from a basic unit presented by Ezra Robotics from China, then modified and refined by the ITS team to expand its capabilities.
Some of its superior capabilities include:
- High mobility: able to walk, run, climb stairs, and navigate varying terrain.
- Complete sensor: equipped LiDAR, GPS, infrared temperature sensors, and acoustic sensors to detect environmental conditions precisely.
- Artificial intelligence: utilise deep learning to recognize objects, thermal images, and voice commands.
- Autonomous and manual modes: can operate independently or be manually controlled for high-risk inspection needs.
- Two size variants: small version (45 cm) for domestic use and industrial version (71 cm) for large and heavy areas.
Development Direction
This collaboration is aimed at encouraging commercialization of intelligent robots in industrial sectors such as energy, mining, and disaster management.
The ITS and Ezra Robotics teams continue to conduct field testing to ensure the robot's navigation accuracy and durability against various extreme conditions.
